So, you tied the knot and the honeymoon is over…so you ask what is next? Many of us have spent countless hours in a day, days in a week to get all the planning for our wedding day and it is all over in a matter of hours. Looking back, we all sometimes wish we could hit the “Easy” button and have everything magically appear without the countless hours we spent planning. What seemed overwhelming has now become our daily grind. We have become depended upon the pressure, the stress and chaos and now that it is finally over we tend to have issue with transitioning into taking breaks and relaxing.

The Court of Honor is a rite of passage in the Latino custom of a Quinceañera. Every court of honor is different and varies in size. Traditionally, the Quinceañera court is comprised of 7 females which they are referred to as the Damas, and 7 males which are referred to as Chambelane’s. The Chambelane’s are the escorts of the young Quince. The members of the court represent the age of the young girl prior to her fifteenth birthday. The court along with the young Quince makes up 15 in total, hence the age at her birthday. Members of the court are normally dressed in formal attire and consist of her closest friends to cousins and/or some form of a relative to the young girl.

Are save the dates necessary and how much will they cost us? Save the date is a way to not only announce your wedding date, but also a way to let your out of town guest have a chance to prepare and plan to attend your wedding. You may find that your list of guests will be from out of town and some may live out of the country and they will need time to prepare. When should you send out your save the date? Generally, couples will mail them out about six months before the wedding. Sending out the save the date can also put in perspective that your wedding planning and date is almost half way through and the big day is coming.

(more…)Paola celebrated her Quinceañera on November 24, 2018 at the Laurel-Beltsville Senior Activity Center in Laurel, MD. Her Quinceañera featured an Aladdin theme with a custom lighted backdrop and a colorful chuppah at the entry. With over 200 guests in attendance to help her celebrate this important milestone, a great time was had by all.
We recently had the pleasure to sit down with Jay Jay, the owner of TLC Bridal Boutique in Frederick, MD. She answered some questions and offered some tips to make wedding gown shopping less stressful. Before you head out gown shopping, make sure to check out the suggestions below.

Ruthie McCoy wanted a special way to celebrate her 65th wedding anniversary with her husband Tom, so she decided to pull out her wedding dress from 1952.
She wore it to a special gathering in Lubbock, Texas to mark their milestone anniversary, and, according to the Today show, her husband absolutely loved it.

You’ve spent months, and months scouring high and low to find the perfect items to create your perfect wedding celebration, but in one day, and a few short hours, those chartreuse, glass, tea light holders, with silver glittering accents that were shipped from a small specialty boutique from across the country, suddenly don’t seem all that “must have” important anymore. You’ve gotten married, yay! Now what do you do with all that décor and “stuff”? It accumulated, was used, and then piled into a corner in your dining room again? It’s taking up valuable space, collecting dust and becoming an eyesore. You’ve decided that maybe you don’t need 15 sky blue 120” round table linens with 200 matching napkins. Time to Sell- Time to recoup some of that hard earned money!
